I. Labeling misalignment - folds
Case: Suzhou, a food factory is promoting a new type of tea drinks, site labeling, labels are always posted askew, and at the bottom of the bottle will produce wrinkles.
First of all, the use of a ruler attached to the side of the bottle, measuring the verticality of the bottle, found that the surface of the cylinder of the bottle, in fact, itself is an inverted cone, on the big and small; and in the labeling design, the label is a rule of the rectangle, so the two can not be completely overlap, so the labeling crooked and the shape of the bottle, labeling related. Regarding the problem that the bottom of the bottle will be wrinkled when labeling, it is found by pressing that the shoulder and neck part of the bottle has better stiffness, while the bottom of the bottle is softer, and the deformation of the bottom is more serious under the same pressure.
Suggestion: The customer moved the label upward when labeling to take advantage of the stiffness of the shoulder and neck and avoid the cost of reopening the mold. Finally, the customer adjusted the shape of the label and the position of the labeling, and this product was successfully marketed.
Second, the backing paper breaks
Case:
A local customer labeling bottom paper break.
On-site testing found that the breaks are concentrated in the label die-cutting knife position, and there is no labeling phenomenon; water-based pen dyeing, ink penetration to the back of the paper, manual simulation of the label, the bottom of the paper folded out of the right angle, it is difficult to out of the label. Judgment die-cutting transverse knife marks too deep, while unpacking the whole roll of labels, found that the end face there are small ruptures, more concentrated in the outer ring on the label.
Solve such problems:
1, die-cutting depth should be controlled only to chop off the glue wire does not destroy the base paper silicone oil layer, die-cutting too deep will lead to both the base paper strength, but also cause the silicone oil layer is destroyed after the glue and substrate layer adhesion, out of the labeling of the surface material and silicone oil paper together with the upper layer of the stripped, resulting in substrate delamination of broken tape.
2, the protection of the edge of the material, the edge of the crease will produce exclusion, while the edge of the slitting must be neat, the blade should be sharp, to avoid the generation of burrs.
Third, labeling warping
Case: a place a daily chemical factory using synthetic paper material affixed to the empty barrel of PP, 8 hours after the warping.
The site of the labeling test, labeling temperature at about 15 ℃, labeling method for the brush, test 50 bottles, due to the bottle itself has a depression, 80% of the bubbles, manual extrusion of air bubbles, 24 hours after observation, about 10% of the bottle labeling warping.

Comprehensive analysis:
Due to the uneven surface of the barrel, automatic labeling needs to be manually driven out of the bubble, the label itself is PP material, ductility is not good, will form an implied stress at the edge of the label, ultimately leading to label edge warping. The problem first of all to improve the labeling process, to avoid bubbles when labeling, and secondly, consider the use of good serviceability of the PE material label, to avoid irregularities in the edge of the barrel to produce warping.
Fourth, labeling “flying label”
Case: As shown in the figure, you can see the label over the corner, the label and the backing paper separated in advance, such problems occur in the cold winter.
Winter temperatures are low, the fluidity of the glue decreases, resulting in glue and backing paper between the binding force becomes low, and then meet the small diameter roller, it intensified the early separation of the label.
Winter ambient temperature can not be changed, only to change the local temperature, add a heater in the corner, so that the glue flow, so that the glue to restore viscosity; of course, you can also give this corner to increase the diameter, local materials, find a suitable bottle or paper tube core set on this roller, increase the arc of the corner.
Labeling process will encounter many problems, as long as we find the essence of the problem from the phenomenon, these problems will be solved.
